Our Ministries

Ladies of Charity operates an EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, focusing on requests for food, clothing, housing costs, medical prescriptions, care of infants’ and toddlers’ needs, heating fuel, Monday through Friday from 9:30am – 1:30pm. No appointments are necessary.  Walk in with your photo ID (required on every visit) and Social Security card (needed first visit only)! Our clients are interviewed discreetly, professionally, and compassionately by our interviewers. The environment from the waiting room to the interview office is bright and open.

Our FOOD PANTRY is open Monday through Friday, from 9:30am – 1:30pm. The 3-day supply of food is packed by volunteers, in the pantry area.  Our clients can also choose from the popular “Free Cart” for items that are not found in the usual 3-day food supply bags. Our volunteers get creative, sometimes offering a mug with a tea bag or fresh produce or unusual breads/bagels/desserts  and canned goods. One never knows WHAT will be on the cart!

The THRIFT SHOP AND WAREHOUSE STORE  help to fund the Emergency Assistance Program. Clients who receive a voucher during their interview, get their free clothing in the Thrift Shop with that voucher. The Shop & Store offer a variety of donated items for sale.  Children’s clothing up to size 12 are $1 per item, except jeans are $3. Adult clothing is $2 per adult item, except jeans are $4. Children’s shoes are $3 and Adult’s are $5, boots are $10.  A small section of priced-as-marked clothing and shoes is also available. Along with some vintage items you will also find home décor, books, linens, accessories, and fashion jewelry! All are bargains. Furniture is offered in the Warehouse Store at affordable prices, along with art work, small and large appliances, rugs, household items, toys, luggage, LP’s, VHS, DVD’s, and TVs!  Look for our seasonal items and sales.

IMG_2283If you have boxes and bags of donations, bring them to our DONATION / INTAKE CENTER. Volunteers will accept your items and give you a receipt if you would like one. If you have furniture to donate but do not have a way to bring it down, you can make arrangements for it to be picked up by our men’s auxiliary “furniture guys.” Just takes a phone call to arrange! The Intake Center is open and receives donations Monday through Saturday 9:30am – 4:00pm.
