The Ladies of Charity Thrift Shop & Warehouse Store operate Monday-Saturday 9:30 am – 4:15 pm. They serve two purposes: fundraising and clothing those in need. Clients who receive clothing vouchers choose their clothing from the general thrift shop racks. The Thrift Shop and Warehouse are open to the general public and this money is used to purchase food for our clients. Children’s clothing up to size 12 is $1 per item, except jeans, which are $3. Adult clothing is $2 per adult item (jeans are $4). Children’s shoes are $3, Adult shoes are $5, and boots are $10. Our boutique offers priced-as-marked clothing, shoes, and housewares.
The Thrift Shop & Warehouse Store also offers vintage items, jewelery, household goods, home decor, art, furniture, small and large appliances, electronics, tv’s, toys, linens, towels, books, music, movies, and much, much more for sale.
We also recycle donated items, whether to sell or pass on as donations to other groups. In 2012, we donated over 1480 boxes of clothing to Crazy Quilt in Appalachia, over 1,000 books, audio and video items to churches, daycares, schools and the Knox County Detention Center. We have donated toys, stuffed animals galore, medical devices and appliances to centers working with the handicapped. LOC has also donated items to Habitat for Humanity; hundreds of vases to Random Acts of Flowers, and huge cans of vegetables to KARM. Nothing seems to go to waste.
